Lucy emigrated with her mother, Sarah Alice (Butt) Benson to America, on the S.S. Indiana, leaving Liverpool, England, 9 Oct. 1895 and arriving in Philadelphia, PA, 23 Oct., when she was 5 years old. They were met by their step-grandfather, Mark Tingle, and stayed with their grandmother and step-grandfather in Chester, PA. She married Edgar Osborne Malseed in 1911. They had at least five children.
