F. G. Rogers, 81, life-long citizen of Wayne County, died at the home of his grand-daughter, Mrs. Ainsworth, at Chicora, shortly after 10 o'clock Tuesday morning following a stroke suffered Monday night just as he was preparing for bed.

In His young years, Mr. Rogers worked for the Robinson Land and Lumber Company, at Chicora and farmed. He was a conscientious Christian man and a member of the Baptist Church.

Surviving him are the following children: Mrs. Allen McRae, Tomball, Texas, Mrs. Arlen Kelley, Goose Creek, Texas, W C Rogers, Crystal Springs, G G Rogers of Greenwood, J Z Rogers, of Leland, and Jesse Rogers of Philadelphia, PA. Brothers L L Rogers, of Mobile, Dr J P Rogers of Chicago, Sister Mrs J L Taylor of Prichard, AL

The funeral will be held today at 10 am from the home of Mrs R C Ainsworth. Rev Eldie F Hicks, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Waynesbora in charge. Interment was in the Winchester Cemetery, Freeman directing.
