Born October 15, 1912 in Stockton, California, son of John Henry and Eleanor Olson Larsen.
Married Dorothy Anderson on March 24, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Life-long resident of Salt Lake City. As a young man, he worked as a mechanic for Western Airlines and later for American Oil Co. until he retired in 1970.
He served in various church positions including scout master, Young Men's Presidency, and coaching. In later years, he particularly enjoyed singing in the ward choir and working in the temple.
He was known as Bill by friends and associates. His hobbies by necessity were building and fixing. In his own words, he was a Jack of All Trades and Master of None.
Survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Carolyn Adamson, Bountiful; Sharon Stringham, Tucson, Ariz.; Reed Warren Larsen, Saratoga, California; Brian Dean Larsen; and Shelly Humphreys, both Salt Lake City; fourteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Florence Adamson and Dorothy Sartori, both Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by a daughter, Christine; three brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 1990 in the Holladay Sixteenth Ward Chapel, 4407 Fortuna Way. Friends may call at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road (1700 West), on Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday at the Church one hour prior to the services.
Interment: Elysian Burial Gardens.
