Jesse "Cal" Caldwell Perdue
SHREVEPORT, LA - Jesse "Cal" Caldwell Perdue was born May 26, 1912 and went to be with his Lord on February 8, 2010 at the age of 97. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He was a Bible Scholar and as a Christian he "not only talked the talk but walked the walk" for his Savior. He was Superintendent of Streets for H&H Construction for 28 years.
His first wife, Grace, son, Jerry Perdue, brother, Pete Perdue and his parents preceded him in death. He is survived by sons, Doug Perdue and wife, Diana, and Don Perdue and wife, Leta; brother, Robert Perdue and sister-in-law Dorcas Prothro. 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. His second wife of 32 years, Mae Palmer Perdue; step-children, Sylvia Scott, and husband, Charles, Betty Prudhome, and husband, James, Dr. "Skip" Palmer, Sr., Gary E. Palmer and wife, Linda, Joan Shumaker and husband, Michael and Debbie Morgan and husband, Keith; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, February 12, 2010 at Rose-Neath Southside. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the funeral home. Officiating will be Dr. "Skip" Palmer, Sr., Rev. Gary E. Palmer and Rev. David Mixon. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Garden of Memory cemetery at Winnfield, LA.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Perdue, Scott Perdue, Michael Prudhome, Dr. David Prudhome, Rick Palmer, Tim Palmer, Layton Palmer and Scott Head.
