Graveside services for Melvin Jones, 85, of 813 B Buckner St., will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Highland Park Cemetery with the Rev. Don Hughes, pastor of New Testament Bible Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be by Alexander Funeral Directors.
Mr. Jones died at 11:37 a.m. Tuesday in Golden Plains Community Hospital.
He was born in Francis, Okla., and lived in Borger from 1942-1973 then moved to San Antonio and moved back to Borger in April. He was a retired boiler with Southwestern Public Service Company and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He married Thelma Dillion Oct. 12, 1953.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Lee Jones of Houston and Milton Jones of Galveston; six daughters, Ann Franklin of Branchland, W.V., Lucille Lester of Chapmanville, W.V., Loyzell Dobbins of Pittsburg, Pa., Luetta Ball of Borger, Barbara Estes of Enid, Okla., and Sharon Louthan of Borger; four sisters, Gertie Reed of Bearden, Okla., Norma Hunt of Amarillo, Tally Jones of Oklahoma and Ruby Neeley of Kansas; a brother, Lee Jones of Oklahoma; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
