Alice M. Denning, 89, Hill City, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, at Catholic Care Center, Wichita. She was born July 14, 1918, in Victoria to Peter John and Frances (Weigel) Billiger.

She married Joseph "Joe" Denning on Oct. 18, 1938, in Collyer. He preceded her in death Dec. 22, 2005. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include seven sons, Laverne Denning, Fort Myers, Fla., Gerald Denning, Lawrence, Curtis Denning, Lincoln, Neb., and Thomas Denning, James Denning, Daniel Denning and Phillip Denning, all of Wichita; a brother, Edwin Billinger, Collyer; a sister, Bernice Stithem, WaKeeney; 20 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis, and a grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hill City; burial in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Hill City. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday at Stinemetz Funeral Home, Hill City, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church. A vigil/rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Masses or the church in care of the funeral home.
