James H. DaFOE, age 79 of Flushing, Michigan, died Friday, February 5, 2010 at Avalon Hospice, Flint.
Cemetery services with military honors will take place later at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the food bank at Flushing Christian Outreach Center, or American Heart Association.
Jim was born February 21, 1930 in Flint, MI, the son of Ralph and Lulu (Jobson) DaFoe. He married . . . in Owosso, Michigan on September 12, 1953. Jim was a Machine Designer in the Engineering Dept. at AC Spark Plug for 35 years, retiring in 1987. He graduated from Owosso High School in the Class of 1948. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in Company A, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division in Korea from 1950-1951. Jim was a life member of the Flushing V.F.W. Post #5666 and the American Legion Post #283, Flushing. He was a life member of the Genesee Sportsman Club and a member of Flushing Area Senior Center.
Jim is survived by wife, . . . ; daughters, . . . ; grandchildren, . . . ; sister, . . . ; sister-in-law, . . . ; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends; and his beloved pets, Felix J. and Max H. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Alfred.
