MAYBELLE ELWOOD
Maybelle H. Elwood, 72, of 6868 N. Eleven Mile Rd., Coleman, died Saturday, Nov. 16, in the Midland Hospital Center after a long illness. Born in Vassar Feb. 6, 1913, she had spent her lifetime in the area. She was a member of the World War I Barracks Auxiliary. The former Maybelle Guest, she was married to Robert Mogg in 1934 in Beaverton. He died in 1943. She then married Vern Elwood in 1949 in Beaverton. He preceded her in death in 1958.
Surviving are one son, Donald Mogg of Coleman; one sister, Lila Bower of Coleman; 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Services were held today, Wednesday, at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. The Rev. Martin Ledwedge officiated and burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Vassar.
