Carl Gene Warstler, 87, died on March 5, at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend. He was born on Jan. 31, 1920, in Oswego, Kan. Warstler served in World War II. He married Lila Fern Ashcraft on Oct. 21, 1942, in St. Paul, Kan. Warstler is survived by his wife, Lila; and children, David and wife Donna Warstler of Burns, Jack and wife Tina Warstler of Burns; Carolyn and husband Richard Bruce of Olympia, Wash., Joe and wife Donna Warstler of Superior, Mont., and Melvin and wife Mary Warstler of Fallon, Nev. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Warstler was preceded in death by daughter, Betty Ann Johnson, granddaughter, Pamela Sue Dunlap; and great-granddaughter, Kathleen Warstler. A memorial for Warstler was held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Burns on March 10.
