Mrs. Mathis died Saturday, March 10, 2007, at a local nursing home.
She was born Nov. 22, 1922, in Haskell County to Oscar Yancy and Cordelia Mayhan Yancy.
She came to this area in 1978 from Oklahoma City. She attended Byars School.
Mrs. Mathis was employed with the Capital Hill State in Oklahoma City.
After moving to Ada, she served as a volunteer at Valley View Hospital for several years.
She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Ada.
She married Gene Mathis Jan. 1, 1940, in Ada. He died March 25, 1995.
Survivors include, Oklahoma City; two brothers, two grandchildren, Oklahoma City.
