Elbert L Bias Jr. was was wounded by the Missile on 29 Nov 1951 in NORTH KOREA, and he was awarded the distinguish service cross. He returned home and later died as a result of his wounds.

Elbert was the son of Elbert Dewey Bias and Ida ALice (Price) Bias.

The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to First Lieutenant (Infantry) Elbert L. Bais, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy during World War II. First Lieutenant Bais' intrepid actions, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the military forces of the United States and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
