He saw heavy combat till November 11, 1918 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross ( GO # 98, WD 1919 ) for his actions July 14-15, 1918, near Fossoy, France and July 26, 1918, Le Channel, France. He served in the Army of Occupation after the war.
He returned to the States, August 10, 1919, and resigned September 12, 1919
