GULFPORT --- Mrs. Nina D. Reed, age 78 and a resident of Gulfport, beautiful, beloved wife for 62 years of William "Bill" B. Reed, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, in Biloxi.

Mrs. Reed, an "Army brat," was a native of Ft. Benning, Ga., and a longtime Gulf Coast resident. She was a graduate of a private high school in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was an Air Force wife for 30 years, during which she literally became a world traveler. Mrs. Reed was a highly talented seamstress and loved sports. She was a member of Frolicing Gourmets, a member of the Great Southern Club, and was a Protestant.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Reed is survived by a son, William B. Reed II of Summerville, S.C.; a daughter, Patricia "Pat" Ike of Hopewell, N.J.; a brother, Robert "Bob" DeWitt of Port Gibson, Miss.; two grandchildren, Andrea Begel of New York, N.Y. and Dayna E. A. Reed of Charleston, S.C.; and one great-grandson.

Visitation will be after 12 noon today, at Riemann Funeral Home on 25th Avenue in Gulfport, followed by the funeral at 1 p.m. Burial will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, V.A.
