Preston Kellogg was the brother of WK Kellogg, the founder of Kellogg Foods, the multi-national corporation that still produces a wide variety of breakfast cereals. Preston was a doctor who served in the army during the Spanish-American War and retired to the Los Angeles community of Eagle Rock in 1918 after World War I.

At the time of his death, he lived at 5137 Maywood, Eagle Rock.
