Peter was the son of William Henry Clement and Sarah Louise Furrow Clement. He had five brothers: Elmer, Oliver, Claude, Charles and William; and four sisters: Eva, Nellie, Katie and Mary Pearl.

As a child, Peter's family lived near Humboldt, Richardson Co., Nebraska; Farnam, Dawson Co., Nebr., and Walker, Lincoln Co., Nebr.

At age 21, U. S. Census records show that Peter is living with his older brother, Oliver K. Clement and his wife, Josephine, in Walker, Lincoln Co., Nebr.

On November 29, 1916, at age 28 Peter married Elizabeth Bell Duckworth, in Akron, Washington Co., Colo.

Peter registered for the draft on June 15, 1918 and started his service on October 22, 1918, as a Private in World War I. He was with Co. “D” 2nd Army Artillary Park, U S Army at Fort McArthur, California. He was Honorably Discharged on December 14, 1918. On his draft registration it was noted that he had a disability of something “Ruptured;” it doesn’t say what.

In 1920, U. S. Census records find them in Bakersfield, Calif. for a few years. They returned to Washington Co., Colo. and lived there until his death on March 4, 1951, at the age of 62.
