Elizabeth Anne Merget, 85, of Elizabethtown, died Saturday, April 7, 2007, at Coventry Manor Nursing Home, Pottstown.

She was the wife of Slater H. Merget, who preceded her in death in 1965.

Elizabeth was born in Philadelphia, spent most of her life in the Chester County area and was the daughter of the late Samuel and Edna Brandenstein and sister of the late Samuel, Robert and David Brandenstein.

She had been an active member of various Presbyterian churches throughout her life.

Elizabeth graduated from the University of Pennsylvania as a registered nurse and continued in her career throughout her life, retiring as a supervisor from Embreeville State Hospital.

She is survived by one son, Donald S. Merget, husband of Terry of Coatesville; three daughters, Martha G. Preston of Downingtown, Anne E. Dodds, wife of William of Paradise, and Barbara J. Meredith, wife of Joseph of Coatesville; 11 grandchildren, Raymond Pendyck and wife Lori of Wesley Chapel, Fla., Joseph Pendyck of Coatesville, Danielle Dodds of York, Amy Dodds of North Carolina, Jessica Trice of Downingtown, Michelle Dodds of Lancaster, Jonathan Trice of Elverson, Joseph Meredith V of Coatesville, Kyle Merget of Coatesville, Rachel Meredith of Coatesville, Taylor Merget of Coatesville; a step-granddaughter, Jennifer Pfeffer and husband George of Delran, N.J.; four great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Additionally, Elizabeth is survived by brothers, Lewis Brandenstein and wife, Ruth of Seattle, Wash., and Ward Brandenstein and wife, Rose Ann of Chandler, Ariz.

Memorial services and interment will be at 11 a.m., Friday, April 20, at Lawnview Cemetery, Jenkintown Lawn, 500 Huntington Pike, Rockledge.
