Age 86 years.

When Solomon and his wife Mary Long Landreth left Grayson county, Virginia in the early 1830's they took their family to Owen county, Indiana.
After Solomon died in 1852, his widow, Mary, went to Mercer county, Illinois where four of her children had settled. Several are buried in Oak Ridge Cemetery at Millersburg. Thomas, Mary, Nathaniel and David all married into the Bass family and most of them lived in Boone county, Iowa.
Patience married her cousin, Henry Landreth and moved to Missouri. Clisby married Elizabeth Miller and moved to Oregon. He died and left two children.
Zachariah built a small house for his mother not far from the main house and there his mother who was Granny Long or Granny Landreth, lived alone during the milder months of the year. It was a battle to get her to move into the main house during the cold winter months, she didn't want to leave her little house. One winter it was decided that Lucy Long Waggoner and her husband Billy, relatives of Granny, should live in the little house with Granny and thus enable her to spend the winter in her little home. This proved most unsatisfactory. Granny said they quarreled so much during the night that she could not sleep so they soon moved on.
Granny, as Mary was called was left all alone when her daughter-in-law Nellie Fender Landreth died in March of 1875. She had been living with Nellie. Her son Isaac had drowned in 1858 and Thomas Landreth had disappeared. After Nellie's death, Mary's granddaughter Ev and her husband Daniel Fender took Granny into their home and there Granny died the next January at the age of 86 years. She is buried near her children in the Millersburg Cemetery.
