Kendal was the son of George Nice and Charlotte Annie Cleaver Brown. With Louisa O. Church he was the father of George David, Richard Scott and Harold Kendal Brown. He later married Anne Dunne. He was the proud grandfather of Linda, Rick, Suzanne, Roseanne, Annie, Colleen, Hal, Danny, Michelle, Andy, Carolyn, Patty, Diane, and Carolyn Anne. He served honorably in The US Navy during WWI AND WWII. He was cremated and his ashes were scattered in the Pacific Ocean at his request.
