John Reese Throckmorton, a well known civil engineer of Greene county, died at his home in West Franklin street, Waynesburg, Friday evening, March 26, at 5:30, in his sixty-first year.
Mr. Throckmorton was born in Center township, September 29, 1854, a son of Samuel and Nancy Reese Throckmorton, now deceased. He was educated in the public schools and in Waynesburg College and entered upon the professions of surveyor and civil engineer. For thirty years he had been engaged in this profession, with the exception of three years he served as clerk to the county board of commissioners.
He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church.
He was united in marriage in 1887 to Miss Clementine Orndoff, daughter of Remembrance Orndoff. Mrs. Throckmorton and one son, John Throckmorton, survive.
