Johnnie S. Gibson, Jr., age 75, died on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the West Tennessee Transitional Care of Jackson.
Johnnie was born on March 23, 1941 in Ashland, MS, the son of the late Johnnie S. Gibson, Sr. and Opal Austin Gibson. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a retired Job Superintendent with Watlington Brothers Construction Company of Jackson with forty years of service. He was a member of Westover Baptist Church and had served as a member of the Madison County Volunteer Fire Department for thirty-five years.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Carol Wallace Gibson of Jackson, TN a son, Steve Gibson and wife Jennifer of Jackson, TN; three daughters, Debbie Collins and husband Jeff of Medon, TN, Cindy Roberson and husband Jeff of Jackson and Vicky Griffin and husband Steven of Gadsden, TN; two sisters, Peggy Witt of Hendersonville, TN and Carolyn Gibson of Jackson and three grandchildren, Bradley Gibson, Maegan Collins and Katie Collins.
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Gibson, Jeff Roberson, Steven Griffin, Eric Turner, Shane Barnes and Ralph Holmes.
