Clara R. Huxell Bavender, 83, went to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 21, 2010.
She was born on July 18, 1926, in Council Grove, Kansas to John and Dollie Holscher. Clara was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that will be missed dearly. She believed in living life to the fullest through the love of dancing, her volunteer work of fifteen years with Health Wise VIP, and spending time with friends and family with a very active and healthy social life. Above all she was a true elegant lady.
She is survived by her daughters, Diane Huxell Barbato, Susan Huxell Marlatt, and son, Craig S. Huxell; grandchildren, Kristy Abbott, Ashley Viveros, Rocky Cooper, Travis Spencer, Adam Spencer, and April Huxell; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Clyde Holscher, Leo Holscher, and Floyd Holscher; sisters, Katy H. Slusher, Marie N. Newcomb and Bernie Holscher, and sister-in-law, Betty Rosendale.
A funeral service was held this afternoon (March 23) at the Seaside Funeral Home Chapel in Corpus Christi, Texas. Interment followed at Seaside Memorial Park.
