William I Hagerman died on Saturday, January 23, at his home in Southold. He was born at Freehold, NJ, October 18, 1850 and lived in Southold for twenty seven years. He was a member of the Southold Methodist Church. Services were conducted on Tuesday afternoon, January 26th and the Rev Murray Hunter, pastor of the Southold Methodist Church officiating. Burial followed in the Southold Presbyterian Cemetery under the direction of H P Tuthill of Mattituck.
Mr Hagerman was always proud of the fact that he was a direct descendant of Adrian Hagerman who left Holland in 1638 and settled in Flatlands, Brooklyn.
He is survived by two sons, Earl P of Southold, Dudley B of Woodbury, NJ, three daughters, Miss Willa H Hagerman of Forest Hills, LI, Mrs Doris Sprigley of Williston Park LI, Mrs Marjorie Baker of Southold, nine grandchildren, a brother G Hagerman and a sister Mrs James Bunting both of Brooklyn.
