Katherine was a daughter of James Jackson and the former Elizabeth Asbury. She was the widow of James A. Lightfoot, who died in 1913. She thereafter moved to Wilberforce, Ohio to live with her daughter, Alma Rebecca Lightfoot Warrick and her son-in-law, Wilberforce University professor Ennis Champ Warrick.
