lst born of James Henry and Ellen "Ella" (Sheridan) Crail. Brother of James Elmer, Annie Estelle (Crail) Murphy Cavanaugh, Gertrude Charlotte (Crail) Dukelow, Henry Eugene, Clarence Greenberry, Luther James and Thomas Sheridan Crail. Grew up in Lancha Plana, Amador Co. now under Lake Comanche. Married Alice Teresa (Riley) in 1906. Father of unnamed birth, Melvin Edward, Lucille, James Marvin, Beth, Nellie, Muriel, Myron (died young) and Allie John who died with the death of his Mother (from a resulting staph infection from a pin prick.) As a widower with very young children he placed the children with the IOOF Children's Home til their teen years. Some years later he married 2nd wife Virginia (Zwinge) Gray with whom he was killed in car/train collision and is buried with him near his lst wife's grave in the IOOF section. He worked many years for Natoma Company, also worked on his cousin's dredger on the American River for gold and owned Crail's Card/Pool Hall in Folsom, CA. for many years. He had a GREAT sense of humor and was a dapper dresser! Member of Folsom Odd Fellow and Encampment lodges.(IOOF)
