Eugene Boyd Cheesman, son of Thomas Jefferson Cheesman and Clara Ellen Hughes. Served in Co. B, 19th Batt., 1st U.S. Field Artillery, 1904-1907. Sent to Philippines in 1908 (Special U.S. service). Captured by Japanese forces JAN of 1942 and imprisoned at Santo Tomas Prison at Manila. Rescued by Allied forces in 1944. Returned to U.S. in 1953.
