Patrick A. Ashe Sr., age 64, a longtime resident of Golondrinas, N.M., passed away at his home on March 28, 2010.
He was born Aug. 20, 1945, in Springer, N.M., to the late Arturo Ashe and Eliza Rivera-Ashe.
He was united in marriage at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas on April 12, 1969, to Gloria Sanchez.
He was a rancher and excavator most of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Arturo and Eliza Ashe; brothers and sisters: Albert Ashe, Susie Ashe, Emilio Ashe, Virginia Raybon and Sarah Ashe.
He is survived by his wife: Gloria S. Ashe of the family home in Golondrinas; daughter: Monica Ashe (John Sanchez) of Golondrinas; sons: Patrick A. Ashe, Jr. (Jennifer Lucero-Berged) of Las Vegas; Jabien Ashe (Kristina) of Bernalillo, N.M.; sisters: Angela Rodriguez of Parachute, Colo.; Flora Paiz, Stella Archuleta (Steve), Grace Olivas (Nick) and Eliza Chavez (Ray) all of Albuquerque; brothers: Arthur Ashe (Debra) of Belen, N.M.; Reyes Ashe (Liz), Joseph Ashe (Marcella) all of Albuquerque; aunt: Aurora Tapia of Crowley, Colo.; grandchildren: Jason, Janelle, Pilar and Melania Sanchez, Patrick III, Rique and Alekezandria Ashe, Emiliano Berged, Horatio and Tristan Ashe; great-granddaughter: Jazmyne Freeman; numerous: nieces and nephews.
Rosary devotional services were conducted on Tuesday, March 30, at St. Gertrude's Church in Mora. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. today at St. Gertrude's Church with Father James Sanchez as celebrant. Interment will follow at San Acacio Cemetery in Golondrinas, N.M., with the following serving as casket bearers: Paul Perea, Chris Perea, Simon Ashe, Nick Vigil, Jim King, Julian Romero and Dennis Paiz. Serving as honorary bearers: Alex Mora, Louie Martinez, Leroy Sandoval, Tommy Sanchez and Tommy Sanchez, Jr.
