Vern was married to Mildred Leona Stepanek in June of 1940 and in 1941 the couple moved to Long Beach, California where Vern worked for Douglas Aircraft and Richfield Oil Refinery. The Rehpohls raised two sons and a daughter, Douglas, Richard and Kay. The family became members of St. Timothy Lutheran Church at the time of its beginning. The two sons died an untimely death in their twenties. Vern is survived by daughter Kay who is married to Mark Fraser. Wife Mildred passed away in 1999. There will be a private burial at Westminster Memorial Park following the reception.
