My father was the son of Edward P and Cora (Sewell) Snellbaker; brother of Lydia, Mildred, Charles, and John, husband of Tillie, father of Edward, John, Millie and Arthur.

He enlisted in the US Army in 1943 and served with the 750th Tank Battalion attached to 104th Division in the European Theatre of Operations. He was discharged on 14 January 1946.

His civilian occupations included chauffeur, bus driver, police officer, cab driver, bartender and shipyard guard.
