Jeptha Fielding McDaniel died Saturday, July 15, in Blessing Hospital, Quincy, after a brief illness. The eldest son of William C. and Rosa Nall McDaniel, he was born in Lewis County May 22, 1982. He lived his entire life in this community except the past five years which was spent in Holly, Michigan. He united with the Williamstown Methodist church in the year of 1920 and held membership there until the time of his death. He was a member of the Williamstown Masonic Lodge from young manhood and of the Lyon Grange. He was united in marriage at Kahoka, Mo., to Miss Nettie McGuire, February 1, 1911. To this union four children were born: Harry Knight, Allen Nall, Mary Eileen, and Marilyn Faye. He is survived by his wife, son, Harry, daughter, Marilyn, grandchildren, Nettie Lee, Jean, Dorothy, George and Gerald McDaniel of Holly, Mich., and Judith Eileen McDaniel of Sacramento, Cal.; two brothers, John Robert of Dixon, Ill., and William Knight of Canton, Mo., two sisters, Mary Evalyn of Browning, Mo., Nancy Anne Wright of Helena, Mont., and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by Mary Eileen in infancy and 2nd Lieut. Allen N. McDaniel, who gave his life in the service of his country. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Arvin of LaGrange, at Zion Hill church Tuesday morning, July 18. Pallbearers were Albert Fishback, Hilburn Fishback, Melven Gruber, Lloyd Horn, Tom Risk, and Wilson Blackburn.
