Funeral services for Bob McDaniel were held Monday, September 11, in the chapel of the Barkley Funeral home in Canton with the Rev. Floyd Hamilton in charge. Music was furnished by Mrs. Earl Bakley at the organ. Pall bearers were Donald Brown, Richard Brown, Russell Lillard, Ernest Lillard, Hulen Oliver and Kenneth Tompkins. Burial was at Zion Hill cemetery. Mr. McDaniel died Thursday, September 7, in the Orchard Glen nursing home at Dixon, Ill. John Robert McDaniel, the son of William Crockett McDaniel and Rose Nall McDaniel, was born on August 10, 1886. He was united in marriage to May Brown at Williamstown on June 10, 1914. She survives. Mr. McDaniel was a member of the First Baptist church of Dixon, the Masonic Order, the American Legion, and the Dixon Garden club. He was a veteran of World War I. He was a graduated of the University of Missouri in civil engineering. For many years he was employed by the Illinois State Highway Department. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jep McDaniel of Holly, Mich., and Willie McDaniel of Canton; and two sisters, Mrs. Eva Callihan of Kansas City and Mrs. Anna Wright of Helena, Mont.
