DEATH VISITED TWO HOMES.

Brothers Bereaved Without Knowing of Others' Sorrow.

HASTINGS, Neb, Jan. 22. - Death visited the homes of John and William Stethem last night without either family learning until this morning of the sorrow that had fallen the other.

Mrs. Mary Ann Groom, aged eighty-eight, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Stethem, three miles southeast of Pauline. Services will be held Sunday afternoon. Rev. D. G. Lapp will officiate and burial will be at the Spring Ranch cemetery (sic).

At 10:30 p.m., Mrs. Lavina Stethem, aged forty-four, died at the family residence four miles southwest of Pauline. Dropsy was the cause. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. Burial will be at Oak Creek cemetery (sic). Mrs. Stethem Is survived by her husband, John Stethem.
