William Craig was born to Elizziebeth Murphy and Green Berry Joshua Hamilton in Pettigrew, Madison county, AR. He was the third child of six. Annie Elizabeth born 1896; James Alexander 1898; and William Craig 19 February 1901; Green Elihue 1905. Early in 1909 Green rode a horse into OK where Elizziebeth's parent were living in Creek County, OK. Elizziebeth then loaded the children on a train and followed. After arriving in OK, Mary Ellen was born in 1909; and John Henry in 1911. William Craig worked in the oil fields, sometimes walked the pipe lines. He worked here at Beggs, and also in Borger, TX. He married Mattie Lee Nimmo 12 June 1926 in Beggs, Okmulgee, OK. To this union there were seven children born. William G. 1929 - 1978; Mary Ruth 1934 - 1980; Bobby Ray 1937 - 1992; The other four are still living. Mattie took Bill to San Angelo to be checked for TB, which he did not have. On the way back to Borger in the ambulance Bill died. The 17 May 1945. He was shipped to Beggs on the train. Mattie packed up the kids and came back to Beggs also. Bill is buried in the Beggs Cemetery.
