Columbiana - Enoch C Rupert, aged 82, prominent retired farmer, died at his home here last evening following several years of complications.
Mrs. Rupert was born in Fairfield Township March 3, 1850, a son of Mr. and Mrs Benjamin Rupert. He came here from New Waterford 21 years ago. He was an elder in the Presbyterian Church.
Besides his wife, Irene, Mr Rupert leaves a daughter, Mrs Ellsworth Miller, Columbian; a son Jesse S., Fairfield; a sister, Mrs. Linda Ward, Lisbon, 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at the home Thursday at 2:30 P.M. in charge of Re. J C Strubel and RE. J C Kirkbride. The body will be placed in the Columbiana Cemetery Mausoleum.

Enoch Rupert, son of Benjamin Rupert, bought farmland just South of Rt 46 on Route 7 in Columbiana County. He built the home, farmed the land and raised a family. The farm is still in the Rupert family.
Enoch Rupert married Elizabeth Irene Vonoglle, who lived on the Vollnogle farm across the road on St Rt 7 also.
Update FEb 18, 2013 - per 1870 Historic Map Fairfield Twp Columbiana the owner of this 103 acre farm is (heirs of Wm Reimer). It is next to 158 acres of Mrs Lower to South. More to be posted.
