Actor. Born Étienne de Pelissier Bujac, Jr. in Carlsbad, Territory of New Mexico (New Mexico became a state in 1912), he is best remembered for the lead role as Jack Driscoll in the film "King Kong" (1933). He made his big screen debut in "Heroes of the Flames" (1931) and went on to appear in over a 100 movies. While on the set of "Angel and the Bad Man" (1947), he met John Wayne and the two became close friends. Known afterwards as one of "Wayne's Regulars", Cabot played supporting roles in 10 of the Duke's movies such as "The Comancheros" (1961), "Hatari" (1962), "McLintock!" (1963), "In Harm's Way" (1965), "The War Wagon" (1967), "The Green Berets" (1968), "Chisum" (1970) and "Big Jake" (1971). His final film role was in the James Bond film "Diamonds are Forever" with Sean Connery. He died of cancer at age 68 in Woodland Hills, California.
