ALICE MATILDA ELMORE
...Mrs. Alice Matilda Elmore, eighty, died at the family home in Gibbs Tuesday afternoon. She had been bedfast since September 12, 1948 when she fall and broke her leg.
...Funeral services were held at the Christian Church in Gibbs Thursday afternoon conducted by Rev. G. D. Hammondtree, pastor of the Evangelical United Brethern Church there, of which Mrs. Elmore was a member. Interment was in the Union cemetery at Gibbs.
...She was born on a farm one mile west of Gibbs on April 18, 1868, the daughter of David W. and Lydia (Stanford) BeGole.
...She was married to Terry E. Elmore on November 7, 1888. Four daughters and two sons were born to this marriage. One son died at the age of three years.
...Her survivors are her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Opal) Thomas of Moberly, Mrs. Virgil (Ora) Hanks of Brashear, Mrs. James (Fay) Davison of La Plata, Mrs. Arden (Vita) Peabody of Winslow, Washington; one son Aubrey C. Elmore of Gibbs; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, George BeGole of Denver, Colorado, Charles BeGole of Kirksville and Ray Begole of Mexico, Missouri; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Elmore of Hooker, Oklahoma and a number of nieces and nephews.
...Surviving relatives in La Plata in addition to Mrs. Davison are a granddaughter, Mrs. James I. Mackey and two nephews, Don and George BeGole.
