Father: John Piper (May 19, 1779-Jul 22, 1841)
Mother: Mary Anne Newman (Oct 10,1792-Jun 15, 1854)

He moved to Texas after 1850, one of the original settlers of Cooke County, He was the County Commissioner in 1862; later that year, he was appointed to the office of County Judge in 1862.

!Occupation: School teacher (1850),farmer (1860). Reputed to have been one of the most accurate mathematicians and best educated men of his day. Taught one of the first schools ever operated in Cooke Co., Texas.
