Find a Grave contributor, Sue Patterson Miller Smith has made the following suggested edits.
Deborah Helm (51815786)
Suggested edit: Deborah Barnhouse was the daughter of George Washington (Sr.) and Susanna Pitman. They died in 1821 and 1819. A Randolph County, VA (now WV) court record shows Deborah's maternal grandfather Joseph Pitman (# 89989426) becoming guarding of GW Jr. but the record says nothing about who took in the three younger girls, including Deborah. Maybe they all went together, or maybe they were farmed out to other family members.
Deborah later became the first wife of Daniel Helm, son of Benoni and Rachel Moore Helm, and had six children with him. After Deborah's death, Daniel remarried twice: To former neighbor Elizabeth Bole (7 children) and again to Ruth Cross (2 children).
Her husband Daniel's burial site has not yet been located, but would be in the York Twp., Belmont County, Ohio area.
Her children were:
* Rachel, married Isaac Richardson
* Malinda
* Andrew
* Lucinda (married Malachi Scott II)
* John (married Lucinda Mussett)
* Barbary "Sarah Ellen" Moore (married Alexander Fryman)
