Katie B. Kent was born July 1 - 1956 in Buchanan Co. MO near Saxton. She was the daughter of J.B. and Anna Kent. While yet a small child the family moved to Andrew CO. Northeast of Savannah in the Bedford Chapel vicinity. Here she attended the Republican School. One of the teachers being Jno Peter Altgeld who later became Governor of Del. On June 5, 1878 she was united to Dave Allen Beattie who passed away Jan. 11, 1930. They resided on a farm near Rochester for four years and later to the J. B. Beattie farm and then later to the J. B. Ken old homestead from which they occupied until April 1908. Moving to Morrison Oklahoma returning back to Mo. in 1909 where she resided until death.

She united with the M. E. Church some forty years ago. She always took an optimistic view of life enjoying to the utmost her flowers friends and fancy work at which she was adept.

Besides her children she leaves twenty two grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. She was a wonderful Mother and was beloved by her family and friends.
