NEW CUMBERLAND - Andrew "Jack" Brandon Sr., 74, of New Cumberland, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010.

Born May 17, 1935, in Rutherford County, Tenn., he is a son of the late Ernest and Esta (Emery) Brandon.

Jack was a retired Captain with the Murfreesboro Police Department, after working 30 years and he was a farmer and a woodcrafter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June Evalyn Brandon.

Surviving are a daughter, Donna Brandon of Georgia; two sons, Andrew (Glinda) Brandon and Floyd Brandon all of Georgia; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a stepson, Bruce (Debbie) Walker of New Cumberland; a stepdaughter, Betsy (Jeff) Adams of Newell; four step-grandchildren; three brothers, Ray, Harry and Bobby Brandon all of Tennessee; and three sisters, Annie Miller, Dorothy Bowlin and Aileen Rose all of Tennessee.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Newell Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, with Pastor Steve Cummings officiating.

The interment will follow at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens of Newell.
