Pottstown - Mrs. Laura Matz, 89, of 212 Henry St., this borough, widow of William A. Matz, died yesterday in the Pottstown Medical Center, East, where she had been a patient for one week.
Born in Reading, a daughter of the late Samuel [Charles] and Gertrude Machnich [Mechnich] Dauth, she was a member of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church here.
Surviving are four sons, Charles J. and George C., both of Gilbertsville, William F., of Boyertown R.D. 1, and John R., of Philadelphia; six daughter, Gertrude, wife of James Resch, Reading; Louisa, wife of Charles Frederick, Pottstown; Florence, wife of Howard Miller, Shillington; Catherine, wife of Ellsworth Albright, Stonersville; Agnes, wife of Warren Hilbert, Warminster; and Laura Matz, Alexandria, Va; 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Wilson Funeral Home here, followed by a Solemn High Requiem Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Aloysius Church. Burial will be made in Charles Evans Cemetery.
