Russian Monarch~Kzarevitch Nicholas was the czar apparent to follow his father Alexander II. While touring Europe at the age of 21, he became sick, which was unlike him. At first the physicians diagnosed him with arthritis, but he had cerebro-spinal meningitis, for which nothing could really be done. Princess Dagmar of Denmark was his fiancee, and it is documented that he asked for her to be the bride of his younger brother, Alexander, who would be Kzarevitch at Nicholas' death. This Nicholas Alexandrovich Romanov can be confused with the Nicholas Alexandrovich Romanov, who was murdered in Bolshevik Revolution July 17, 1918.
