Activities: active member of the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce; worked with the University of Nebraska at Kearney Foundation, First United Methodist Church, youth basketball and other sports programs, and University of Nebraska Alumni Association; was an avid sports fan who supported many Kearney teams; loved watching his kids participating in sports and coaching their basketball teams
Was riding his all-terrain vehicle on the street after completing a neighborhood association project of hauling rock to the lake shoreline near his residence at the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife; son, Nathan of Kearney; daughter, McKenzie of Kearney; his father of Eustis; brothers, Fred and his wife, Marlys, of Henderson, Nev., Robin and his wife, Lynnette, of Schuyler and Mac of Eustis; sister, Marlynn of Kimball; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Was preceded in death by a stillborn daughter, Elizabeth, and his mother.
