Franklin Day Eastabrooks, was born November 23, 1862 at Clinton, Iowa and departed this life July 19, 1934 at the St. Francis Hospital, Grand Island, Nebraska, age 71 years, 7 months and 25 days.
He was the eldest son of Mahlon and Emma Eastabrooks. He was united in marriage to Agnes Williams on December 24, 1886 in Fillmore County, Nebraska. To this union was born six children, four boys and two girls. Namely Horace, Ray, Mahlon and Vernon. The girls are Mrs. Hope Sheehan and Mrs. Shirley Diefenbaugh, all of Litchfield, Nebraska. Seventeen grandchildren, one passing this life in infancy. He is also survived by his widow, four brothers; Sam of Litchfield; Than of Manson, Washington; Walter of Gooding, Idaho and Guy of Hastings. Three sisters, Mrs. Stella Shearer of Hebron, Neb.; Mrs. Kate Elliott of Angus, Nebr.; Mrs. Maud Zink having preceded him in death, April 1922.
When about twenty years of age he united with the Brethern Church of Strang, Nebraska. He moved to Litchfield in 1903 and the last 30 years of his life has been in and around Litchfield. He leaves many friends to mourn his loss, aside from the near relatives.
Funeral services were held from the Christian church in Litchfield, Saturday afternoon, July 21, Rev. W.C.Lessley assisted by Rev. A.W. Johnson officiating. Interment was made in the Litchfield cemetery.
