Grace Elizabeth (Prater) Agor Foresman, 97, died February 15, 1998, at her home on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle, nine days before her 98th birthday. She was born February 24, 1900 in Yakima, the daughter of William C. and Grace (Stephenson) Prater. Both families immigrated to the state while it was a territory. The Praters settled in Kittitas County and the Stephensons in Yakima County. Her father was employed in Alaska where the family lived for two years.

In 1904, they moved from Ellensburg to Seattle where her father was a prominent businessman. They first lived on Capital Hill where she attended the I. T. Minor Grade School and St. Mark's Episcopal Church. In 1913 they moved to Queen Anne Hill where she attended West Queen Anne Grade School and St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

She graduated from Queen Anne High School in 1918 and soon married Benn Agor of Yakima whose family were also Yakima Valley pioneers. Grace was widowed in 1936 and the next year she moved back to Seattle where she lived in Washington Park and for many years in Magnolia. In 1947 she married Kennedy Foresman, formerly of Yakima. He died in March 1977. She was a member of the Washington State Pioneer Association.

She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy (Agor) Matuschak and Jane (Agor) McGee, both of Snohomish, one son, Benn R. Agor of Seattle; one stepdaughter, June (Foresman) Pickrell of Lynwood, four grandsons, James Matuschak of Aurora, Colo., Stephen Matuschak of Snohomish, Neal McGee of Bothell and Barry W. McGee of Snohomish, 10 great grandchildren, one niece, and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, William Prater, Jr. Private family funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 21 at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home, 1111 Aurora Ave., North Seattle.
