Harmon Hughes Brown's parents were John Haney Davis Brown and Mary Matilda Hughes. The father's name on his death certificate is NOT correct. Census records confirm this.

In Titus Co., 1880, the census shows a 7 year old Hughs Brown living with his parents, John H. & Mary Brown along with his siblings Nellie A and Orphila. Also a personal list of family members my aunt provided me that my grandmother had written down years ago also shows John Haney Davis & Mary Hughes as Harmon's parents. Harmon had an uncle named Samuel Brown.

Harmon's grandparents were Dr. Alexander Brown & Sarah Marshall. Dr. Alexander was a physician in Titus County in the mid 1800s. Dr. Brown was born in South Carolina and moved to Missouri sometime in the late 1820s. All of Alex & Sarah's children were born in MO. The Browns moved to Titus Co. sometime after 1845 when their last child, Irene was born. They are listed in Titus Co. in the 1850 census. Dr. Brown is buried at Tranquil Cemetery in Winfield, TX along with his wife Sarah and several other Brown relatives.

Harmon married Nancy Ann Stephens around 1898 and they are listed in the 1900 census with 1 year old Millie B.

Millie was my grandmother, Millie Belle (Brown) Jackson.

Harmon and Nancy had 7 children:

Millie Belle (Brown) Jackson (1898-1982)
Melvin Hubert Brown (1900-1972)
Marvin Orville Brown (1905-1975)
Hattie Mae (Brown) Harrell (1902-1984)
Ethel Brown (1909-1992)
Jewel Dean (Brown) Warren (1915-2005)
Davis Eugene Brown (1917-1998)

Harmon and his second wife, Josie Lulu Staton had 4 children:

Joseph Davis Brown (1921-1991)
M. L. Brown (1923-2009)
Marie Brown (1925-2011)
William H Brown (1928-2002)

Harmon had 3 sisters, Louella, Sarah, & Nellie. He also had one brother, Orphila:

Louella (Brown) Reed (1860-1928)
Sarah Eugenia "Sallie" (Brown) Harper (1862-1930)
Orphila S Brown (1866-___)
Nellie A (Brown) Holmes (1869-1931)
