Rose was born in New York City. The family moved to Syracuse. She married Maurice Alderman of Rochester (no relation known) in 1914. Rose graduated from Syracuse University in 1935 with a degree in speech and drama. She was the director of club activities at the Jewish Community Center and the director of Temple Adath Yeshurun activities. She was associated with Hadassah, Syracuse University Dames, and the Syracuse Museum of Fine Arts. Rose lived in NYC in 1955. She was a professor at Hunter College, where she taught speech and drama until retiring in 1965. Her last residence was Berkeley Heights NJ.
