George Adam was born to Andrew and Jane Konitzer on Jan. 1, 1917. He was number 10 among 16 children. He married Irene Van Haren on Aug. 28, 1937. They had seven children all born in Oconto Falls, WI.

George and his sister, Margaret were once in a school play as children. At their rather large family reunion in 1973 George and Margaret sang the song they remembered from that play which had a special meaning to them. The song went:

I am proud that I look like my Daddy, faithful, honest and true. I will try to follow in his foot steps and be a brave man too. A mother is the truest friend a feller ever had but don't forget to give some credit to your dear old dad. I am proud that I look like my Daddy, he's the best friend I ever had.
