Married July 17, 1787, Elizabeth Aylett (b. 1769)

His parents were Col. Bernard Moore and Ann Catherine Spotswood. His sister Anne Butler Moore (b.1746-1809) married Charles Carter of Shirley Plantation, and they had a daughter Ann Hill Carter, mother of General Robert E. Lee.
Another sister of his was Lucy Moore, b. 1747, who married John Robinson, Speaker of the House of Burgesses and Treasurer of the Colony. John Robinson inherited the house "Scotchtown" in Hanover County, later the home of Patrick Henry from his father-in-law John Chiswell.

As of this time no evidence has been found that Elizabeth Aylett Moore is buried in the Aylett graveyard, further investigation needs to be done to find where her grave might be.

Recently JoanB shared with me this information concerning ELIZABETH AYLETT MOORE:
"A family story is that after Alexander Spotswood Moore's death, she married a Judge whose last name was Hamilton, and moved with him to Chucky (?) Bend in Tennessee. Whether there is any truth to this, I don't know, but that's the story passed down."
The search goes on!
