"IHS/Sacred/To the memory of/(Anne Bre)nt relict of Robert Brent Esq/(of?) Stafford County Virginia/(daug)hter of Daniel Carroll Esq/born on the 13th of July AD 1733/(depa)rted this life in November 1804/in the 72d year of her age./This stone is placed over her grave/by her Surviving Children:/As a testimony of their ardent & dutious attach(ment)/which they cherished for so good & exemplary a Mother/& as a tribute of their profound respect/to the virtues and piety/which adorned her life and character./Requiescat in pace."
