Jennie V. Walkowski

Jennie V. Walkowski, 88, of Bertrand Street, died about 6:40pm Thursday at St Joseph's Medical Center. Mrs. Walkowski was a former housekeeper at Fishers Refrigeration Co.



She was born February 15, 1902, in Chicago and lived in South Bend most of her life. On May 5, 1926, in South Bend, as Jennie Kilinski, she married Peter Walkowski. He died February 1, 1958.

She is survived by three daughters, Lucille Kopczynski and Marcia Sink, both of South Bend and Betty Lou Elias of Niles; a son, Ernest of South Bend; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Marion Kilinski of Mishawaka and Edna Mezykowski of South Bend. A son, Ralph, died in 1970. Another son,James died in 1987.

She was a member of Apostleship of Prayer and Harvest House, both of St Stanislaus Catholic Church and Polish Women's Alliance Group 305

Services will be at 10am Monday at St Stanislaus Catholic Church. Burial will be at St Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9pm Sunday at Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 7pm.
